Sunrise Symphony

about

Six years ago, I released the score for a short student film called Annalisa. This film told an incredibly moving story about a man who was struggling to overcome the guilt of losing his daughter. The climax of the film depicts Nathan (the main character) watching Emmanuel (a wise stranger) literally paint the sunrise. It was a moving and powerful sequence that depicts God being with us in the tough times and overcoming our past to make something beautiful.

To accompany this sequence, I composed a piece that I entitled Sunrise Symphony. It was the highlight of a scare that I’m proud of to this day. It was bold and full of life while the rest of the score had a minimal, dreary and ambient feel to match the tone of the rest of the film.

Fast forward to last year when I was putting together a release schedule. I was wanting to release something that I could put together quickly but still have meaning and quality to it. I searched through my back catalog and rediscovered Sunrise Symphony. It was rough around the edges. My production skills weren’t up to snuff when I first wrote but a little time and patience got it polished up.
